More make_resourceful Delays - Sorry!
So it’s October 20th.
Definitely past mid-October.
And still no make_resourceful 0.2.0.
Yeah. Sorry about that. I’ve been busy. I haven’t even made a blog post in a week, and I can almost always find time for that.
It’s gonna take more time, I’m sorry to say. Hopefully it’ll be ready sometime in November.
The thing is, I really want to get specs written for everything. I want to make sure it’s rock-solid. And as I go through (slowly) writing specs, I have been finding errors.
At this point, all we need are specs for resourceful/default/actions.rb and resourceful/default/accessors.rb. The former should be easy enough, and although there’s a lot of stuff in the latter, it should be reasonably straightforward.
Patches are of course welcomed
and will hurry the process immensely.
They should be reasonably easy to create
for anyone with some knowledge of m_r and RSpec.
You don’t even need to really know anything about the m_r internals.
One thing we won’t fix in 0.2.0 is support for Rails 2.0.
Right now, it’s lacking in several places,
most notably the URL helpers, object_url and friends.
0.2.0 will still use the old methods
in order to preserve compatibility with the pre-1.2.5 API.
However, we plan to relase version 0.2.1 very shortly (as in a couple days at most) after 0.2.0. 0.2.1 will drop support for the old API, and some stuff, like the URL helpers, will only work with 1.2.5+.
